The Forum Junge Spitzenforschung awards prizes to the most innovative application ideas on the subject of Climate Change

Six young researchers receive awards

On 20 November 2019, the closing event and award ceremony for the winners of the sixth ideas competition “Forum Junge Spitzenforscher” of the Stiftung Industrieforschung in cooperation with Humboldt-Innovation took place in the Animal Anatomical Theatre of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

1st place went to Mareike Mauerer (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) with her project: “Sustainable vegetable cultivation with nitrified urine”.

2nd place went to Dr. Oliver Dumele and Niklas Grabicki (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin) for their project: “CO2 binding and conversion by sunlight”.

3rd place went to the project “Open Access Textbook: Quality Improvement in Vegetable Production” by Prof. Dr. Christoph-Martin Geilfus (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin).

The first three places will receive prize money of EUR 10,000 each.

A 4th place each and a prize money of 2,000 EUR each were awarded: Early-warning indicators for tipping points (Freie Universität Berlin), Electrical production of fine chemicals (Technische Universität Berlin) and PHABIO-up (Technische Universität Berlin)
